Chocolate Self Saucing Pudding
My sister has a thing for chocolate. This pudding is testimony to her fine taste. Her self saucing pudding is easy, delicious and the perfect quick dessert. Serves 8.
Ingredients
3/4 cup self raising flour
1/2 tsp bicarb soda
2/3 cup caster sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
30 g butter melted
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla essence
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 1/4 cups hot water
Method
- Sift flour, bicarb soda, caster sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa in to a bowl and mix together.
- Add butter, milk, vanilla essence and then spread this cake mix over a well greased 18cm cake tin.
- To make the sauce, mix together in a separate bowl the brown sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa and water and pour onto the cake mix over the back of a spoon.
- Bake in a 200 degrees Celsius oven for 30-40 minutes. The base will be saucy and the top set like a cake.
- Serve with good quality vanilla ice-cream.
